Duties:

Polishes flat optics and spherical optics made of industry standard materials to laser quality tolerances.
Inspect, block, deblock, and clean as necessary.
Perform testing methods necessary to ensure the quality specification of components are being met.
Provide accurate estimates on polishing times.
Interpret and understand blueprints for quoting purposes.
Proficient with the following equipment: interferometer, auto collimator, and spherometers.
Be a technical advisor to management, engineering, and fellow employees.
Perform research and development for new or existing products as needed.
Demonstrate best practices of handling, fabricating, cleaning, and testing of optics.
Run multiple spindles or pieces of polishing equipment.
Drive and recommend changes as needed.

Read, interpret and understand part descriptions and technical specifications.

10 or more years experience with double side lappers, over arm polishing spindles, or planetary polishers. CNC polishing experience is beneficial.
